The perfect micro for milder lettuce greens to make a tangy salad floated on soups, used as a garnish over quiche, or placed as an accent in creamy pasta dishes. Try our Crisp Sour Sorrel Nutri Special.
Some Quick Facts:
- Our microgreens are harvested on a regular weekly basis, to ensure that our customers receive the freshest produce and the highest quality. Fully compostable/biodegradable packaging is used to stay environmentally conscious. Our produce remains mold-free for up to 14 days if Stored Correctly
- The weight information displayed on our packaging is the actual usable plant weight.
- If you prefer your microgreens in a live growing plant tray, please take the following into account, Caution! Some microgreen varieties tend to form mold in the root area, if not properly attended to. Make sure that your planting mat is well-ventilated at all times. Please note that the weight of the products offered in live growing trays includes the grow mats, water, roots and packaging. This is why the usable plant weight is generally 40-50% below the declaration. All live grow tray suppliers have the same complications when it comes to mould control. See what Wikipedia has to say!
The #Microgreen Team works on food-safe premises and is fully government-approved. We care about the environment, hence why we only use compostable/biodegradable packaging.
Our Crisp Sour Sorrel is best suited as an edible garnish and provides added sensory elements to a wide variety of culinary dishes. The tender, tart greens are showcased when consumed fresh and should be added at the end of preparations to avoid wilting and provide the brightest flavour. Micro Sorrel can be mixed with milder lettuce greens to make a tangy salad, floated on soups, used as a garnish over quiche, or placed as an accent in creamy pasta dishes.
The sharp greens can also be utilized as a garnish to sushi and seafood, complementing flavours of fish with rich and fatty oil content, or they can be incorporated into sauces for roasted meats and vegetables. Beyond culinary dishes, Micro Sorrel can be muddled into cocktails or used as an edible garnish for beverages. Micro Sorrel pairs well with Asian, French, Latin, and Mexican cuisines and complements nuts such as pepitas, pistachios, and Marcona almonds, beets, leeks, radishes, radicchio, ginger, meats such as poultry, goose, turkey, salmon, cheeses such as chevre, goat, gouda, and blue, and herbs such as tarragon, chives, and parsley. Micro Sorrel will generally keep 5 to 7 days stored in the refrigerator in a sealed container.

Let’s take a closer look at how eating sorrel microgreens can boost your wellbeing
Micro Sorrel is a source of potassium, a mineral that helps the body balance fluid levels and acts as an electrolyte to prevent dehydration. The microgreens also provide vitamins A and C to strengthen the immune system and reduce inflammation, fibre to stimulate the digestive tract, and lower amounts of iron, calcium, and magnesium. It is important to note that the vitamins and minerals are found primarily within the leaves and not in the stems of the microgreens. Growing conditions also significantly impact the nutritional content, and Fresh Origins cultivates its microgreens in a natural setting, an ideal climate for healthy, optimal greens.
